Pacific Essences® was founded in 1983 by one of the tremendous pioneers of the flower essence world, Sabina Pettitt, in order to explore the therapeutic qualities of plants native the Pacific Northwest in Canada. In 1985 she was guided to make remedies from plants and creatures of the sea, with her and her husband Michael being ideally located for such exploration, living as they do on the edge of the Pacific Ocean.

In 1991 Sabina organized and hosted the second international flower essence conference, with 35 speakers and 200 delegates from around the world. And she was the keynote speaker at a Natural Therapies conference in Brazil in 1997, where she addressed 1200 participants. That same year she was also a principal speaker at the Nature Healing Humanity conference at Findhorn in Scotland which attracted 300 delegates from around the world.

In 1992 she developed the Abundance Program, a combination of essences, essential oils and processes to empower people to live the lives they choose and to feel deeply connected to the flow of life. The program has now been translated into Spanish, French, Portuguese, Japanese and German.

IFER has been proud to represent and to be the sole UK importer / distributor for the Pacific Essences since the end of 1995. In fact Sabina had a significant role as a catalyst in helping to kick-start the very idea of IFER coming into being that year. IFER has hosted her workshops a number of times over these years, and Sabina's Energy Medicine Seminar was the very first workshop that IFER hosted here at our premises on the Isle of Gigha after our relocation to Scotland in December 2003. We are proud and delighted to be hosting her and her week-long seminar once again in 2009.

Sabina is a Doctor of Acupuncture, and has done more work than anyone else to create a bridge of understanding between Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and the world of essences. She has taught about the Pacific Essences and their use in many countries around the world, from Japan and South America to Europe, and despite her knowledge, experience and the developing success of the Pacific Essences, remains a truly wonderful person with an enormous spirit, dedicated to helping humanity.
